Summary
Overall, it is a good choice for those who happen to find a good deal here for several reasons. You are in a good location with bus stops, good beaches, and close to the nightlife. You also benefit from it being all-inclusive. The quality of rooms, dining and entertainment really puts this below high end resorts.
Planning a vacation can be an exciting yet daunting task, especially when it comes to choosing the perfect resort that ticks all the boxes for an unforgettable getaway. I decided to try out one of the recommended resorts that I found on Google to see for myself if it lives up to the hype and reviews.
Among the plethora of resorts available, is Wyndham Alltra Cancun review. In this blog, we aim to provide you with an honest review of Wynhdam Alltra All-Inclusive Resort, offering a comprehensive look into the features, amenities, and overall experience at this tropical paradise.

Having experience resorts good and bad, I will provide you with information of the quality of experiences you should be expecting from different levels of resorts and where Wyndham Alltra stands.
Check-in Experience
During the check-in, you have to wait in line at the front desk to start checking in. Once arriving at the all-inclusive resort, my family and I waited about 20 minutes before it was our turn. Compared to other resorts, check-in is usually fast.
For check-in, you will be asked to provide your passport and ID and fill out the paperwork. Then you are given your wrist tag, along with your room and towel card. At newer resorts, room cards are eliminated since wrist tags have a chip in them to open the door. Here they still use a plastic card and if you lose it, its almost 100$ fee.
The actual check-in process was not bad ~ 20 min. This was the only resort that I have been to that did not provide a physical pamphlet of resort information/map. Instead, you are given a QR code that opens a site with all that information.
Some good news we received at Wyndham Alltra Cancun All inclusive Resort was that all restaurants are walk-in availability and did NOT require a reservation. Usually, other resorts have specialty restaurants as reservations only.
Location and Accessibility
Wyndham Alltra Cancun enjoys a prime location that perfectly complements the allure of this stunning tropical destination. Nestled in the heart of Cancun, the resort boasts a picturesque setting with direct access to the mesmerizing Caribbean Sea and its pristine white-sand beaches.
The Good
Travelers will appreciate the convenience of Wyndham Alltra Cancun’s location, as it is just a short distance away from the Cancun International Airport ~25 min. Upon arrival, guests can easily reach the resort in a matter of minutes, allowing for a seamless transition from plane to paradise.
Beyond its proximity to the airport, Wyndham Alltra Cancun’s location offers much more. The resort sits within close proximity to some of Cancun’s most popular attractions, such as the vibrant nightlife of the Hotel Zone which is a 15-minute walk away. The shopping mall is a short bus stop away as well.
There is a bus stop that arrives very frequently ex. every few minutes which conveniently takes you to places that you would want to be if you explore. The stop is located right next to the Resort’s name sign. These buses are the R-1 and the R-2. Very cheap and convenient.
For those who wish to venture beyond the immediate surroundings, transportation options are abundant. Taxis, shuttles, and public transportation are readily available, allowing guests to explore the wider Cancun area and discover its rich heritage and natural beauty. This includes places like Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and more.
Accessibility
The resort boasts good transportation accessibility.
Getting around the resort can be a challenge to individuals with physical disabilities in terms of accessibility for the disabled. For instance, there is a lot of stairs at different areas of the hotel but no ramps mostly. The ramps that are available are incredibly steep, even for those just walking.
Additionally, the upper floors in the buildings that were around mine, did not have elevators. My room was on the second floor with stairs only which is not convenient.
Accommodations and Amenities
At Wyndham Alltra Cancun, guests can expect a range of accommodations designed to cater to different preferences and group sizes. From budget suites to luxurious villas, the resort offers a variety of options to suit every traveler’s needs.
The rooms at Wyndham Alltra Cancun are dated. In my opinion, it is always best to have an ocean view. I took the budget room which had dated decor. It did have a small balcony, TV with good international channels, and free room service daily till 11:00 PM.
Room review
Cleaning and disinfection practices from COVID are gone mostly. Here the cleanliness and hygiene measures is great when housekeeping arrives. I was surprised to find out housekeeping is every 3 days unless you call and ask for housekeeping and towel changes. Minibar is stocked with sodas, water, and beer.
In terms of amenities, you get body wash, shampoo, and conditioner which was low-quality in my opinion, and not foamy which is what you need when you have sunscreen, sweat, and sand on your body. The really annoying part was the shampoo dispenser had no spout. It was just a hole in the pump, and you had to use your hand to hold the soap that comes out which is something I’ve never seen before.
Room Service was sometimes better than the food served at the restaurant’s ex. rib eye steak was on the menu. And of course, it was free since its an all-inclusive resort.
It is important to note that while the majority of guests have had a positive experience at Wyndham Alltra Cancun, there have been occasional reports of minor issues such as slow Wi-Fi connectivity in certain areas or delays in room service. However, my experience was generally good in that regard.
Dining
Buffet Restaurant Ventanas
Going straight to the point, the food was mediocre. I did not think any of the food was particularly great. Everyday dinner is a different theme, but there was not a great variety of options if something did not look good. Personally, I would skip the buffet for dinner.
Azul | Asian Restaurant
Not authentic which is to be expected but not great either. Some items on the menu was good but not great. Others like the ramen were bad to say the least. The broth just tasted like salty soy sauce, and pad thai tasted like tomato sauce. I would not recommend it here either.
Viaggio Italian Restaruant
Overall the best restaurant of them which was only good at most.
Casa de Rosa | Mexican Restaurant
Food could be more authentic being this is a Mexican in Mexico. It had interesting flavors.
At Sunset
You can think of this as a health-conscious restaurant. My issue here was not the food but the service. Its a long story but the host was very rude.
Bars
There are 3 open bars available to everyone and they all vary in quality depending on who the bartender is. For example, I ordered a cocktail for the menu, but the bartender used only 3 of the 5 ingredients from the drink. The bartender was constantly watching people to see if they would tip or not which was infuriating. Other bartenders did a great job.
Entertainment
While the focus of the resort is primarily on relaxation and beachfront enjoyment, some guests have expressed a desire for more engaging and diverse entertainment offerings.
Recreational Facilities: Wyndham Alltra Cancun’s all-inclusive resort had a gym and one adult-sized pool. The gym was pretty small, but the pool area was always lively and had activities that were fun to watch.
Evening Entertainment: While the resort does offer some evening entertainment options, such as live music performances and themed events, there have been instances where guests have found the overall selection to be limited. Some visitors have expressed a desire for more variety and engaging activities during the evenings.
When I went, the evening shows were lack-luster, and kind of a waste of time. I usually have fun at all the other resorts I’ve been to but the shows here were not good. One night, there were dancers with cheap superhero outfits dancing. It was not engaging or fun to watch.
The nearby Hotel Zone offers a plethora of nightlife options, including clubs, bars, and entertainment venues outside the resort which I recommend.
While the resort may benefit from enhancing its in-house entertainment offerings, guests can still find solace in the tranquil ambiance and natural beauty that Wyndham Alltra Cancun provides.
Service and Staff
The resort’s staff is knowledgeable about the facilities and activities, readily available to answer questions, and provide recommendations for exploring the local area.
While the majority of guests have had positive encounters with the staff, a few reports have highlighted occasional delays in service or minor communication issues.
Overall, the service and staff at Wyndham Alltra Cancun contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. With their genuine hospitality and willingness to assist, the resort’s staff members play a significant role in ensuring that guests have a comfortable and memorable stay.

When considering a stay at Wyndham Alltra Cancun, it is important to weigh the pros and cons to make an informed decision. Here are the key strengths and potential areas for improvement to consider:

Prime Location: Wyndham Alltra Cancun enjoys a superb location, offering easy access to the beach and proximity to popular attractions.
Diverse Dining Options: Guests can indulge in a variety of cuisines and flavors at the resort’s restaurants without reservations.
Recreational Facilities: Spa, hottub, gym and pool are all in good condition.
Working staff: Everyday staff were friendly, greeted you as you passed and answered questions about the community of Cancun.
Cons:
Lack of Entertainment Variety: Some guests have expressed a desire for more diverse and engaging entertainment options within the resort.
Occasional Service Delays: A few reports have mentioned sporadic delays in service or minor communication issues.

Dining quality: Not the best quality of food here.

Considering the strengths and areas for improvement, Wyndham Alltra Cancun is recommended for those who find a good deal. I think there are better options but if there is a great deal at this resort, then I would take it. My recommendation for a better resort nearby is Grand Royal Park.
What is there to do near Wyndham Alltra Cancun?
La Isla shopping mall is a great place to hangout and leave the resort for a day. There is a theater, restaurants, serval shopping and activities.
